Dr. Jesus Carpio, DMD, FICOI
Dr. Carpio was born in Lima, Peru, and moved to Miami Beach, FL, at the age of 10. He excelled academically at Miami Beach Senior High School, where he was also active in various societies, sports, and volunteer work. His medical volunteering at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital provided him with extensive exposure to different medical specialties.
Soccer, his favorite sport, was a significant part of his life, and he played from high school through dental school. He was recognized by the Miami Herald as one of South Florida’s top athletes and scholars upon finishing high school. His involvement with the Miami Beach Police Athletic League (PAL), along with his sports, volunteering, and academic achievements, earned him scholarships to attend Florida International University (FIU).
Initially pursuing a career in medicine at FIU, Dr. Carpio discovered his passion for dentistry in his third year while preparing for the MCAT. Influenced by dental students and professionals, he shifted his focus and graduated with honors in 1998, earning a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology.
Dr. Carpio then attended Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, where he graduated at the top of his class in 2003. He received various scholarships and was inducted into the Oral Surgery Honor Society, Stomatognathic Honor Society, Endodontic Society and Pediatric Society and Orthodontic Society. His dedication to these fields led him to exceed the requirements for graduation.
Dr. Carpio is a proud member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, where he holds a fellowship.
